Robredo said the photo circulating on social media was from two years ago during a visit to evacuees in the aftermath of a landslide.

“This picture was taken on Sept.  28, 2018 following a landslide in Itogon, Benguet. Hindi po totoo na pumunta kami na walang dalang tulong (It’s not true we went there with no aid),” she said on her Facebook page.

Her post was accompanied by a screen shot of the comment which read: “Yong Vice President na bumisita sa lugar namin dito sa Itogon. Na nagdala ng maraming cameramen. Wala man lng dalang relief goods. Para sa mga evacuees.”

(The Vice President who visited our place here in Itogon brought many cameramen. She didn’t even bring relief goods for evacuees)

Another netized shared the fake post and poked fun at it.  “May dala daw po silang fish crakers (They had brought fish crackers),” he wrote.

Robredo denied their claim by listing down her office’s assistance for those affected by the landslide – P10,000 each for 60 families, vitamins, health drinks, and relief packs.

Robredo noted they also provided relief assistance in other landslide-hit areas such as Baguio City, Tubao, La Union; Cagayan Valley, and Naga City, Cebu.

The lady official also addressed the claim that she went to Itogon with the media for publicity stunts.

“’Yung media na nakikita sa picture, nakasabay lang namin ‘yan dun sa site ng landslide at marami ‘yung andun para mag-cover (hindi sa akin, pero sa landslide) ng mga rescuers na naghuhukay pa din pagpunta namin (It just so happened the media being seen in picture were with us in the site and many of them were there to cover not me but the rescuers digging the area),” she said.
