DAVAO CITY – The Davao region recorded a total of 306 new cases, and seven deaths over the weekend.
Based on the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Regional Case Bulletin for Saturday, November 21, the Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD) recorded 191 new cases, six deaths, and 38 recoveries. Meanwhile, for Sunday, November 22, the DOH recorded 115 new cases, one death and 47 recoveries.
Davao region has tallied a total of 8,376 COVID-19 cases, with 2,594 active cases. Record shows that 1,360 cases are asymptomatic, 1,102 are mild cases, 119 are severe cases and 13 are critical.
Davao City has the most number of active cases with 2,052, followed by Davao del Norte with 225, Davao del Sur with 171, Davao de Oro with 109, Davao Oriental with 32, and Davao Occidental with five.
Based on the profile of confirmed COVID-19 cases for November 21, there were 18 children, aged 15 and below who were among the 191 patients who tested positive for COVID-19. The youngest of them was a two-month-old boy from Buhangin district. The child's history of exposure was still being investigated.
The total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the region is now at 308. Davao City has the most number of deaths with 254, while Davao Occidental has the lowest with three deaths recorded.
Last Saturday, the youngest fatality recorded was a 24-year-old male patient from Visayan Village in Tagum City. The patient died on November 13. Meanwhile, the oldest fatality was an 86-year-old woman from Barangay Lapu-lapu in Agdao, Davao City. The patient was admitted last November 17 and died after three days.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries in Davao region is now at 5,474.
