LISTEN: The LSS in 'Magandang Dilag' by JM Bales

It began as the theme song for the swimsuit round of the inaugural Miss Universe Philippines beauty pageant held in Baguio City last Oct. 25.

Almost one month later, this infectious OPM song interpreted by independent artist JM Bales, 27, remains to be a favorite among music lovers and Tiktokers.

You won't see JM performing in the the swimsuit competition of the pageant. Just his singing voice in the background as the top 16 semi-finalists paraded in their swimwear created by Dubai based designer Furne One of Amato Couture.

When JM performed "Magandang Dilag" on "Unang Hirit," he said that the song was composed by Kiko Salazar for the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

Netizens praised the song for its beat and for showcasing the beauty of Filipinos. But the fun part of it is when they caught themselves humming its melody and hear it play on a continuous loop in their heads. Talk about last song syndrome.
