A new, action packed thriller coming this December

‘Goblin,’ ‘Descendants of the Sun’ director back on Netflix with a new show

Netflix just announced that Lee Eung-bok, the director of everyone’s favorites Descendants of the Sun, Goblin, and Mr. Sunshine, is coming back to direct a popular web toon thriller that will make its global debut this December.

Here’s what else we know about the upcoming thriller.

Sweet Home (Korean Title: 스위트홈) is a Korean webtoon thriller based on a unique world where people turn into monsters that reflect their internal desires. It was first published on Oct. 12, 2017 via Naver Webtoon Corp, written by Kim Kanbi and Hwang Young Chan.

The story revolves around Cha Hyunsu, a reclusive high school student who moves into a new apartment called Green Home. He faces the death of his whole family in a car accident and a series of other events that will push him out to the world to save others.

The cast includes Song Kang and Go Min-si (who we’ve seen in Love Alarm), Lee Jin-uk from Voice, Lee Si-Young (a familiar face from Boys Over Flowers), Lee Dohyun from 18 Again, Park Kyu-Young from Romance is a Bonus Book, and Go Youn-Jung of the drama He Is Psychometric.

Sweet Home will be filled with computer generated imagery (CGI), amplified by tons of visual and sound effects, and would only be 10 episodes long, quite different from the typical Korean dramas one would watch and binge.
