Vice President Leni Robredo denied accusations of being in a relationship with anyone as she addressed once more the long-standing rumor about her personal life that resurfaced after President Duterte’s latest tirade against her.

In a Facebook post on Thursday night, Robredo said that a partymate handling her political affairs and a gay friend have been romantically linked to her, both of which she denied.
Robredo showed a post of a netizen who alleged her supposed relationships. This person happens to be a supporter of Duterte who recently asked about her whereabouts whenever she supposedly comes home late.
“Third picture is again a purveyor of fake news. Di ko lang alam kung paano ito pinalaki ng magulang niya. Nakakaawa (I don’t know how this person was raised by her parents. It’s a pity),” she said.
“Marami nang beses nilang sinabi na nanlalaki ako. Ilang beses, nag post ng mga pictures na kung sino sinong kasama ko, sinasabing boyfriend ko (For several times they have said I’ve had affairs. They have posted several times pictures of who I was with, my rumored boyfriend),” she added.
The vice president went on to mention a person who works in her office and goes with her team during her political engagements.
Robredo did not mention his name, but the person has been rumored to be former Quezon Rep. Jorge “Bolet” Banal, her partymate in the opposition Liberal Party, of which she is the chairman.
“Matagal ko itong hindi pinapansin kasi hindi naman totoo. Pero noong mag decide kaming i call out na yung mga fake news, ito yung isa sa pinaka una naming kinonfront Nasa facebook page namin yung video nito (I’ve ignored this for a long time because this is not true. But when we decided to call out the fake news, this is the first thing we confronted. The video is on our Facebook page),” she wrote.
Robredo said her detractors have hurled accusations against her when they can no longer make valid arguments.
She hoped they would spare her partymate’s family from insults because they have helped in her development programs.
