Barangay Ginebra San Miguel may be laser-focused on its quest to win the PBA Philippine Cup but did not serve as hindrance in helping those affected by the recent typhoon.
Coach Tim Cone said Ginebra was able to raise funds inside the bubble in Smart Clark Giga City which was used to buy donations to victims who were ravaged by the massive flooding caused by Typhoon "Ulysses."
The team brought goods using a pair of 4x4 trucks to Marikina, one of areas most affected by the typhoon, through the help of reserve big man Raymond Aguilar, who in his spare time serves as a fire volunteer.

“We put a lot of money into the pot,” Cone said. “I don’t know the exact amount but it was a pretty good amount and we sent it down to Manila to buy some goods. So we bought goods and sent it to Marikina. Raymond Aguilar is from the Marikina area, works with the fire group so his people are distributing those things.

“So I’m really proud of our guys. We didn’t ask them to do that. They did that on their own so I’m sure our organization, up and down, is doing work as well,” added Cone.
San Miguel Corporation recently announced that it had sent donations to 22 provinces and cities that were affected not only by Ulysses, but also Quinta and Rolly.
Ginebra is also hoping to give some of its affected fans something to smile about, especially after taking Game 1 of their semifinal series with Meralco 96-79 last Wednesday.
The Kings were aiming to make it two in a row over the Bolts Friday afternoon at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.
Ginebra is the latest PBA semifinalist to provide relief to typhoon victims after TNT’s Troy Rosario launched a donation drive for his home province of Cagayan Valley, another area that was severely flooded.
With help from his wife Mich and sisters CJ and Eunice, Rosario was able to raise money that will be used to buy essential goods.
Rosario is also inside the bubble, hoping to help TNT take a similar 2-0 lead over Phoenix Super LPG Friday evening.
