Naval Forces Central transports relief assistance to Catanduanes
LAPULAPU CITY -- The Naval Forces Central (NFC) deployed the navy vessel BRP Batak (LC299) under the Naval Task Group 50 (NTG50) over the weekend to transport Cebu City government’s humanitarian and relief assistance to families in Catanduanes affected by Super Typhoon “Rolly.”

NFC Commander Commodore Dorvin Jose Legaspi led the send-off ceremony with Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella at the NFC headquarters, Naval Base Rafael Ramos, Brgy Looc, Lapu-lapu City.
The relief assistance was composed of a disaster response and relief team accompanied by a medical team and ambulance to augment the on-going response in the typhoon-affected areas. It also included 500 sacks of 50 kg rice to be handed over to the intended beneficiaries in coordination with the local government unit of Catanduanes.
The Navy vessel LC299 head, Commander Dexter Caga-anan with his crew and the Cebu City Humanitarian Assistance and Relief Team arrived in Virac Port, Catanduanes on Nov. 14
“CentCom is always ready to help in the delivery of relief assistance to areas affected by disasters and calamities in coordination with our stakeholders such as the local government of Cebu City. We hope that the assistance will help ease the sufferings of the people of Catanduanes brought by the calamity,” Lt. Gen. Roberto Ancan, Commander of Central Command said.
