Gordon tells PH leaders: We have a country to be won so let's fix ourselves
Philippine leaders must learn that we have a country to be won and if we do not fix ourselves, nobody is going to fix it for us.

Senator Richard J. Gordon stressed this during the ‘’Kapihan sa Manila Bay’’ press forum where he said Filipinos should not expect any major foreign policy shift in the current Philippine-US relations under a Joe Biden presidency.
"Whoever is the President, the focus of the US government would always be is what is its national interest," Gordon said.
"We must have real independent minds with no borders, analytical minds that could show us the way. ‘Yan ang kailangan natin,’’ he added. (That is what we need.)
Gordon expressed concern that the Philippines would face a ‘’potential enemy’’ but did not identify that country.
‘’We must have a credible defense,’’ Gordon said.
He also recalled an ‘’advice’’ given to him by a politician decades ago wherein treating the people is a question of ‘’kwartamatic.’’ He said he still feels aggrieved by such a nonchalant attitude.
What the country needs is respect for the rule of law where there is predictability and those who commit wrong would be held liable in a ‘’fast and constant’’ manner, he said.
