DSWD Region 4-A distributes P7.59 M worth of family food packs in Calabarzon

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 4-A (DSWD FO 4-A) has so far provided a total of ₱7.59 million worth of family food packs to those affected by typhoon Ulysses in Calabarzon.

In coordination with the local government units (LGUs), DSWD FO 4-A has provided a total of 18,200 family food packs composed of 9,350 packs in Rizal, 2,350 in Laguna, and 6,500 in Quezon.

Additional 1,300 family food packs were delivered to San Mateo, Rizal last Monday.

On Tuesday, additional food packs were also delivered to Jomalig, Quezon (3,000); Patnanungan, Quezon (3,000); and 2,000 family food packs each to Panukulan, Burdeos, and Polilio in Quezon.

DSWD FO 4-A currently has 3,500 family food packs, non-food items amounting to P5.9 million, and standby funds amounting to P3 million. 

To augment the inventory of FO IV-A, DSWD FO-Bicol region sent 5,000 family food packs.

DSWD’s quick response team was also deployed to conduct Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis in General Nakar and at the port of Real, Quezon to monitor the delivery of family food packs for the five island municipalities. 

RDANA was also conducted in Infanta and Real, Quezon, which is currently being updated to ensure that all findings and recommendations will be communicated to the concerned LGUs, including the previously conducted RDANA in the provinces of Rizal and Laguna.

To ensure that the delivery of aid will not be delayed, DSWD FO 4-A’s Emergency Operations Center continues to gather traffic and road situations going to affected areas.

The DSWD field office also continues its coordination with LGUs on data gathering on damaged houses in their respective areas, monitoring of evacuation centers for camp management, constant update of stockpile inventory for food and non-food items, assessment of affected families for relief distributions plans, and request for additional quick response fund and fast track the procurement of raw materials for continuous production of family food packs.
