CAGAYAN – Two nurses assigned at the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Peñablanca town here tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday, November 16.
Based on the latest data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU), the first patient was a 30-year-old female from Barangay Salamague, Iquig town, while the other was a 31-year-old male from Barangay Caritan Centro in Tuguegarao City.
Both were nurses assigned at the RHU of Peñablanca town.
The PHO and PESU said contact tracing was ongoing on the persons who may have had close contact with the patients.
As of November 17, a total of 886 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Cagayan, with 709 recoveries from the disease.
There are still 167 active cases in the province with 119 still being treated in Tuguegarao City.
