14 more overseas Filipinos added to COVID-19 tally

The number of overseas Filipinos with COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) has increased by 14, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a report on Tuesday.

In its latest tally, the DFA said these new cases were recorded in Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East and Africa. Four new recoveries were also reported in the same regions. 

Meanwhile, one new fatality was listed in the Middle East and Africa.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos to 11,542. Of this total, 3,243 are undergoing treatment, 7,467 have recovered and 832 succumbed to the disease. 

To date, the Middle East and Africa remain to be the region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, recoveries, under treatment, and fatalities among our nationals. 

The DFA monitoring of COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos showed that the Americas has the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions, except in the total number of deaths, wherein Asia and the Pacific ranks lowest with only nine.
