Negros Occidental tops Western Visayas in active COVID-19 cases
BACOLOD CITY - The province of Negros Occidental has the highest number of active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Western Visayas with 1,245, as of November 15.
Based on the data of Department of Health in Region 6 (DOH-6), the province also has also recorded a total of 5,179 COVID-19 cases, which was also the most in the region.
The province also has 3,840 recoveries and 94 deaths.
It was followed by Bacolod City, with 5,124 cases, including 391 active cases, 4,582 recoveries, and 151 deaths.
Iloilo City ranked third with 4,215 cases, including 204 active cases, 3,903 recoveries, and 108 deaths.
Iloilo province came in fourth with 2,441 cases, including 474 active cases, 1,890 recoveries, and 77 deaths.
Capiz ranked fifth with 953 cases, followed by Guimaras with 198, Aklan with 183, and Antique with 77.
Currently, a total of 18,370 COVID-19 cases, including 2,414 active cases, 15,479 recoveries, and 477 deaths, have been recorded in the region.
