BTS sweeps 4 trophies at E! People's Choice Awards

K-pop idol group BTS made a clean sweep of all the four categories they were nominated for at the 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards which aired on Nov. 15 (Nov. 16 in the Philippines) from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

BTS won The Group of 2020, The Music Video of 2020, The Song of 2020 and The Album of 2020 at this year’s awards hosted by Demi Lovato.

The seven-member boy band won The Group of 2020 over BLACKPINK, 5 Seconds of Summer, Chloe X Halle, CNCO, Dan + Shay, Jonas Brothers and twenty one pilots.

BTS’ “Dynamite,” which now has 598 million views on YouTube since Aug. 21, bagged The Music Video of 2020 award. Other nominees in the category were BLACKPINK’s “Ice Cream (with Selena Gomez),” “Blinding Lights “ by The Weeknd, “Holy” by Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper, “Life Is Good” by Future feat. Drake, “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, “UN DIA (ONE DAY)” by J. Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny feat. Tainy, and “WAP” by Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion.

“Dynamite” also claimed victory in The Song of 2020, edging out “Break My Heart” by Dua Lipa, “Intentions” by Justin Bieber, “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, “Rockstar” by DaBaby feat. Roddy Ricch, “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion, “Stuck with U” by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber, and “WAP” by Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion.

BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7” emerged as the winner of The Album of 2020 beating “After Hours” by The Weeknd, “Changes” by Justin Bieber, “Chromatica” by Lady Gaga, “Folklore” by Taylor Swift, “Future Nostalgia” by Dua Lipa, “High Off Life” by Future and “YHLQMDLG” by Bad Bunny.

They won four awards in the 2018 PCAs: The Group of 2018, The Song of 2018 for “Idol,” The Music Video of 2018 for “Idol” and The Social Celebrity of 2018.

At this year’s PCAs, there were 44 categories in movies, television, music and pop culture. Jennifer Lopez received the "People's Icon of 2020" award.
