3. When private people and groups banded together to augment government rescue operations. Dr Ted Esguerra, founder of the Wilderness Search and Rescue Philippines, joined forces with a group of emergency rescuers like React Ready, Project Michaelangelo Foundation, and the Emergency Management Unit of the Energy Development Corporation went into areas submerged in flood waters.

HELP IS ON THE WAY Dr. Ted Everest Esguerra, founder of the Wilderness Search And Rescue Philippines, joined forces with REACT READY, Project Michaelangelo Foundation, and the Emergency Management Unit of the Energy Development Corporation to augment ongoing rescue operations in areas submerged in flood waters due to typhoon Ulysses

4. When pet owners risked life and limb to make sure their loyal friends were rescued alongside them.

5. When Bruno got stranded on top of the roof in Nangka, Marikina, and rescuers later reunited him with his owner.

6. When a coffee shop named Tribu Babaylan and Kape & Co., located in Tomas Morato, QC, offered not just free food and warm coffee for those whose homes have been damaged by the typhoon, but also a place to stay.

7. When the PCG worked in quiet determination to save people, but whose most touching pictures include the careful retrieval of senior citizens residing at Hospicio de San Jose in San Miguel Manila as floodwaters entered the building.
