SMB guards Ross, Cabagnot carry out 'I'm Just A Kid' challenge

Remember when Chris Ross used to rock a buzz cut with the Meralco Bolts and Alex Cabagnot was not long-haired with the Petron Blaze Boosters?

From 2010 to 2013, Ross and Cabagnot weren't teammates. San Miguel's backcourt duo used to meet on the opposite side of the court.

In an Instagram post, the two SMB guards shared a version of their "I'm Just A Kid" challenge, a trending gimmick in TikTok.

The objective is simple: To recreate a childhood or throwback photo with Simple Plan's "I'm Just A Kid" as background music.

This time though, Ross and Cabagnot didn't look too far and just went back to their younger years in the PBA.

The video saw Cabagnot guarding Ross with the present version at their room in Quest Hotel in Mimosa and the throwback counterpart during a certain game between Meralco and Petron (San Miguel).

It was only in October 2013 when Ross was traded to the Beermen in exchange for Denok Miranda.

Ross and Cabagnot, for around four months, helped each other in SMB. But the man known as "The Crunchman" was sent to the GlobalPort Batang Pier (NorthPort) in February the following year.

When the playoffs of the 2014 PBA Philippine Cup began, Cabagnot was traded back to San Miguel for Sol Mercado. Since then, Ross and Cabagnot were inseparable and have been teammates for six years now.

San Miguel and Meralco, coincidentally, are battling for the semifinals berth in their do-or-die quarterfinals match in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center as of this writing.
