Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday refuted false claim of a “fake news bearer” who was “trolling” her daughters over her relief operations for typhoon victims.

IIn her Facebook page, Robredo shared a screenshot of a comment made by a netizen using false information, urging the public to report his post.

The vice president was referring to Rossica Louie Hendeve’s post which read: “Yung nanay nila pumunta dito sa san mateo rizal. Namigay ng chicharon parang tangerds.”

(Their mother went here in San Mateo, Rizal. She gave fried pork rinds like a dumb person.)

“Pulutan? ano yon magiinuman kame? Papansin nanay niyo oy! May hakot pang media kaloka!” he wrote.

(Finger foods? Were we drinking? Your mother was attention-seeker! She even brought a lot of mediamen.)

Robredo said it was okay for the public to criticize, but spoke against spreading false information.

“It is okay to criticize. But if you use false information, we will report you,” she said.

The lady official denied she and her team have gone to San Mateo, Rizal and they gave away chicharon as part of her office’s relief operations.

“We never gave away chicharon. These are the things we give: hot meals, food packs, mattresses, blankets, slippers, hygiene kits, water,” Robredo noted.

“The big bag of fish crackers, not chicharon, which I posted about yesterday, was given to us. We did not give it away. Instead, we shared it with our volunteer repackers,” she said.

Robredo also debunked bringing mediamen during her visit to evacuation centers to bring relief goods to victims of Ulysses.
