Ilocos Region police dispatched to help in Cagayan, Isabela rescue operations

PANGASINAN – Personnel from the Police Regional Office-1 (PRO-1) in the Ilocos Region have been sent to Cagayan to join search and rescue operations in Cagayan and Isabela provinces in the aftermath of typhoon Ulysses.

PRO-1 Director Brig. Gen. Rodolfo S Azurin, Jr deployed a medical team and five teams belonging to the PRO-1 search and rescue contingent to help in the ongoing rescue operations in the two provinces.

PRO-1 also extended financial assistance in the amount of P110,000 to the victims of typhoon Ulysses.

“Today, we are not only in the battle against the pandemic, we are also into helping our fellow Filipinos who were hardly hit by typhoon Ulysses. In these trying times, let the spirit of ‘bayanihan’ flourish. Let us continuously pray for the safety of everyone. Together, we will recover and overcome all these challenges,” Azurin said.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group also joined the PRO-1 SAR teams in the Cagayan and Isabela rescue operations.
