Vice President Leni Robredo continued her visits to typhoon victims who are staying in evacuation centers, this time going to Cainta, Rizal. 

Robredo paid a visit to evacuated families at Francisco P. Feliz Elementary School-Westbank and Lakas Bisig Block 3 Covered Court-Westbank on Friday night in the aftermath of Typhoon Ulysses.

During her visit, she and her team brought various forms of assistance to residents such as hot meals, sleeping mattresses, drinking water, diapers, and slippers donated by the private partners of her office’s relief efforts.

In a Facebook Live post, Robredo showed the classrooms were still plunged in darkness while she was checking on the condition of evacuees. She gave comfort to the children, together with their parents.

“Kamusta kayo? Nakakain na ba kayo? (How are you? Have you eaten?),” Robredo asked residents as she posed in front of them at the crowded evacuation center.

Wearing a face mask and her eyeglasses, Robredo was seen giving sleeping mattresses and slippers to evacuees who responded to her with loud cheers as a sign of gratitude.

The vice president has been continuously giving relief goods to typhoon victims in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon after the Typhoon Ulysses’ onslaught. Before Cainta, she visited an evacuation center in Marikina City.

Robredo has been also actively monitoring the situation in Cagayan Valley and Isabela and was providing updates about the government’s rescue operations for stranded residents on her social media accounts.

“ Was informed by our team that two choppers already took off from Clark about an hour ago. After prepositioning in Cauayan City, air rescue will already commence,” she said in a Twitter post.

Robredo’s office, in partnership with non-government organization Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance, will bring relief goods in Marikina City, Cagayan. and Rizal through their Our Bangon Luzon relief drive this weekend.
