Abueva tells public: Beware of fake 'Beast'

Phoenix star Calvin Abueva has warned the public against fake social media accounts using his name to spread rumors amid the destruction left by "Typhoon Ulysses."

On his official Instagram account @abuevacalvinthebeast, Abueva addressed the issue and debunked owning a certain Twitter account @BeastCalvin08 and Facebook user calvin.abueva.100483.

On Facebook, the fake account stated that Abueva had already done his part of helping the typhoon victims by looking for rubber boats and a private plane even to be used for rescue operations.

The account also wrote that Abueva is willing to shoulder all expenses for the rescue vehicles.

The same goes for the reported Twitter account but this time, the tweet said Abueva had secured three private planes and four rubber boats. 

Both accounts have been taken down and a report has been filed since.

" kakagising mo lang bigla ka na lang yumaman. poser po yan," Abueva captioned in his one-minute video clip on Instagram Saturday.

"Wag po kayong maniwala dyan dahil wala po akong pinost na ganyan. 'Di ko po real account 'yon."

The Phoenix forward also vowed to catch the poser behind the fake accounts once outside the Clark bubble.

"'Sobra sobra na po 'yung ginawa niya," Abueva added. "Hindi po ako humingi ng tulong kaya ko po yung sarili ko para tumulong sa iba."

The Fuel Masters, which clinched the second seed after finishing second in the eliminations at 8-3 record, also tweeted a fake account alert and clarified that the circulating user is not affiliated or authorized by Abueva.

Phoenix, carrying a twice-to-beat advantage, seeks a semifinal berth when it takes on Magnolia in the second game at 6:45 p.m today (Nov. 14).
