In letter to BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay, Director Bernadette Casinabe of the 8888 Citizens' Complaint Center noted that the agency has acted with dispatch to the various issues brought to it by the public.

President Duterte formed the panel early in his administration to receive complaints concerning corruption and inefficiency in the delivery of services by all government offices.

"We are thankful to receive the commendation. Rest assured that the bureau will continue to act on citizens' complaints, queries and suggestions," Dulay told Casinabe.

The BIR chief added that "many of these valuable feedback from taxpayers will help us identify areas that need improvement and serve as inputs to our on-going investigation to rid the service of the remaining bad eggs."

Dulay said he is expecting that the anti-graft investigation mounted by the Department of Justice will help the management in removing undesirables officials and employes.

He said they welcome criticisms, complaints and anti-graft probe even as many taxpayers expressed satisfaction over reforms he introduced.
