Over 4,000 Manila residents evacuated amid Typhoon 'Ulysses'



Over 4,000 individuals have been evacuated by the Manila city government as Typhoon "Ulysses" batters Luzon with heavy rains and strong winds on Thursday morning.

Data from the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) showed that at least 4,298 individuals or 1,065 families have been evacuated as of 10 a.m. on Thursday.

They were brought to the Rosauro Almario Elementary School, P. Guevarra Elementary School, HJ Atienza Elementary School, Aurora Quezon Elementary School, and Baseco Evacuation Center.

The city government and the police are also providing free rides to stranded commuters.
