Marie de la Roche’s latest collection, The Gentlewoman, is all about women’s strength

Fashion week has taken on a more virtual form in the new normal. It makes us nostalgic for the days our favorite celebrities and content creators were jetting off to the fashion capitals of the world. Not only would they watch (and post on Instagram) fabulous runway shows, most of them would make the city sidewalks their own runways with their fashionable ensembles.

Back in February, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was spotted at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) absolutely slaying. While she was styled in many well-known logos and labels (hello LV, bonjour Chanel), we also saw some pieces from up-and-coming designers.

If you missed out on getting some luxury Marie de la Roche leather bags to match with Miss Universe, you are now in luck. The Gentlewoman collection not only features fresh takes on the brand’s classic designs (like the Octavio and Blanket Micro bags Pia brought to New York), but also new shapes. With innovative colors and textures, these handcrafted and ethically-sourced leather goods exude fashionable sophistication with a bit of an edge.

Who are the other boss babes who have been caught with an original Marie de la Roche? You can add actress Janine Gutierrez, designers Patty Ang and Dona Lim, and stylist-entrepreneur Liz Uy on the list.

The woman behind the eponymous label, Marie de la Roche considers herself a global nomad, and her brand reflects those international routes. A marriage between Portuguese craftsmanship and luxury Italian leather, the designs are inspired by de la Roche’s experiences around the Mediterranean, South America, and East Asia.

It is no wonder that our favorite wanderlust travelers are drawn to these bags. The Gentlewoman collection, with versatile bags inspired by Japanese samurai armor and clutches inspired by Japnese yakuta, finds strength in femininity, subverting expectations and assumptions.

Marie de la Roche is available in-store at Lanai in Karrivin Plaza along Pasong Tamo, and Cura V in Rockwell, as well as online at the Bzaar Collective.
