Jay Sonza no-show at NBI

Former broadcaster Jay Sonza was a no-show at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Manila where young actress Julia Barretto filed a cyber libel case against him two months ago.

ABS-CBN said that Sonza was sent a subpoena by the NBI Cybercrime Division to explain his side on the cyber libel complaint of the young star.

"Sonza has not sent a representative nor any document to explain his absence, or his position on the complaint. The NBI will still proceed in its investigation. Sonza can still present his side once the NBI recommends the filing of a case in the prosecutor’s office," ABS-CBN said in a tweet.

In September, Sonza shared a pregnancy gossip on Facebook that the young star was allegedly having a baby by Gerald Anderson.

The rumored sweethearts took to social media to deny the rumor.

Dennis Padilla, father of Julia, did not take the gossip seriously. But Marjorie, mother of the young star, has called out Sonza for spreading the gossip which she described as an "irresponsible" action.
