Flood warning up as Magat Dam in Isabela opens 2 gates
Residents in low-lying communities in Isabela were warned against possible flooding as Magat Dam opened two gates to release excess water from its reservoir Monday afternoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said areas that are likely to be affected by Magat Dam's release of water are Ramon, San Mateo, Aurora, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Burgos, Naguilian, and Gamu.
The water level of Magat Dam rose from 189.34 meters around 6 a.m. Monday to 191.03 meters around 4 p.m.
Its current level is almost two meters away from its spilling level of 193 meters.
PAGASA said moderate rains over the watershed in the next 24 hours may contribute to the continuous increase of Magat Dam's water level.
Authorities opened two of Magat Dam's gates with a four meter opening as of 5 p.m. Monday.
Residents in low-lying communities and near river channels were advised to take appropriate action in case flooding occurs.
