Larry Bandico, 32, died from the wounds inflicted on him by younger brothers Wilmar and Junmar, who tried to keep him from hacking his pregnant partner.

According to Police Station 9 Head Lt. Gilbert Batiles, it was Wilmar who first tried to pacify his drunken brother after seeing that he was about to hurt his live-in partner.

Wilmar was reportedly able to grapple with Larry for control of the cane cutter, the police commander added.

It was at this point that Junmar, who was the youngest of the three brothers, intervened and reportedly hit Larry with a piece of wood on the head.

And even before he could recover from that head blow, Batiles said, Larry had already sustained several hack wounds that were delivered by Wilmar.

Larry sustained cuts in the neck and head, which caused his immediate death, according to Batiles.

Wilmar and Junmar reportedly fled after the incident, but were later arrested by the police.

Batiles said the two suspects will be released from police custody after the 36-hour reglementary detention, if the victim’s family does not pursue charges against them.
