A female employee of the House of Representatives has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total count to 93 cases.
Dr. Dick Dizon, director of the House Medical-Dental Service, said the House recorded its 93rd confirmed case of coronavirus disease.
He said a 56-year-old female employee from the Engineering Department, who is residing in Bulacan, caught the disease.
She "was reported today as a confirmed COVID-19 case,” he said in a Viber message.
Dizon said the female employee was exposed to her symptomatic husband on October 3. Despite experiencing headache which she attributed to lack of sleep, the patient went to office from Nov. 3 to 5, he said.
On Nov. 6, the employee was tested for COVID-19, and a day after, her COVID-19 test "reported as positive," Dizon said.
He said currently, the patient is asymptomatic, and is set "for transfer to a quarantine facility in Bulacan.”
Dizon said the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT) has been informed and that contract tracing is underway.
With the new reported case, the House has a total of nine active cases.
As of 5 p.m., Nov. 7, the House recorded 79 recoveries and five deaths.
