DFA tally: 30 COVID-19 cases, 7 recoveries among Filipinos abroad


The Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday reported 30 new confirmed cases and seven new recoveries due to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) among Filipinos abroad.

These new cases and new recoveries were recorded from in Asia and the Pacific and Europe.

Meanwhile, no new fatality was recorded in the DFA’s latest global monitoring of COVID-19 cases. 

As of today, the total number of COVID-19 cases and recoveries involving overseas Filipinos across the main geographic regions are 11,410 and 7,364, respectively. 

Of the total, 3,218 overseas Filipinos are undergoing treatment in various hospitals and health facilities abroad and a total of 828 deaths due to coronavirus infections have been recorded since the outbreak started in February this year. 

The DFA assured the public that it will continue to keep track of the status of overseas Filipinos and stands ready to assist and facilitate in the repatriations of distressed and stranded nationals amid the pandemic.
