Seventeen, NCT, BLACKPINK top Hanteo’s monthly album chart for October


K-pop groups Seventeen, NCT, BLACKPINK, TXT and TWICE copped the first five places in album sales for the month of October.

South Korea’s Hanteo Chart has released the list of best-selling albums for the month of October based on online and offline sales.

Seventeen’s “Semicolon” album, released on Oct. 19, grabbed first place on the monthly chart, selling 958,959 copies. It sold 297,370 copies on the first day on Oct. 19 and went on to top Hanteo’s weekly album chart with 932,054 copies sold from Oct. 19 to 25. “Semicolon” had more than 1.1 million copies in pre-orders, according to Pledis Entertainment.

NCT’s “Resonance Pt. 1” album placed second with 805,175 copies sold for the month of October. The album was released on Oct. 12 and it topped the weekly album chart with 644,711 copies sold from Oct. 12 to 18.

BLACKPINK’s first studio album “The Album” is in third place, selling 728,830 copies in October. The album was released on Oct. 2 and in its first week, it sold 689,066 copies compared to 204,334 copies for “How You Like That.”

TOMORROW X TOGETHER or TXT’s “Minisode 1: Blue Hour,” released on Oct. 26, bagged fourth place with 300,714 copies in sales for the month. It topped the weekly chart from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1 with 303,190 copies sold.

TWICE’s “Eyes Wide Open” sold 227,883 copies in October to place fifth. It was released on Oct. 26 and had 107,345 copies sold on the first day. It placed second on the weekly chart with 229,801 copies sold from Oct. 16 to Nov. 1.

Placing sixth to 10th in the October monthly chart are BTS’ re-released “Skool Luv Affair Special Addition,” 181,102 copies (6th place), Pentagon’s “WE:TH,” 82,466 (7th), Golden Child’s “Pump It Up,” 69,275 (8th), Loona’s “12:00,” 54,802 (9th) and Stray Kids’ “In Life,” 47,521 (10th).
