According to Andanar, the President is closely keeping tabs on the calamity situation and wanted to assure the affected communities of the government support.

“Pinatitiyak ng ating Pangulo na agad matutulungan ng national government ang mga pinaka-apektadong local government units. (The President wants to make sure that the national government will provide assistance to the most affected local government units)," he said during the Laging Handa public briefing on state television Sunday.

"Mahalaga kay Pangulong Duterte na makabalik agad sa normal ang sitwasyon sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo. (It is important for President Duterte to get the situation back to normal immediately, especially in areas devastated by the typhoon),” he added.

The powerful typhoon ripped through Bicol region and other parts of the country Sunday, bringing intense rains and winds.

Four people were reportedly killed during the onslaught of the storm.

Andanar said the government has already taken safety measures to ensure the wellbeing of the people from the latest weather disturbance, reportedly considered the strongest this year. Military and other government personnel have been alerted to assist in search, rescue and relief operations.

“Sa paghagupit ng bagyong “Rolly,” ang ating pamahalaan ay nagsagawa ng mga hakbang pangkaligtasan at preemptive measures upang tiyakin ang seguridad ng bawat isa. (With the onslaught of typhoon "Rolly," our government is undertaking safety and preemptive measures in order to ensure the protection and security of everyone),” he said.

Andanar also reminded the public to monitor weather updates and cooperate with authorities. He said the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), including the government media entities, will also continue to disseminate relevant information about the typhoon situation.

He also expressed hope about the nation's recovery from the typhoon's onslaught, citing the resilience of Filipinos during challenging times.
