Stephan Schrock finally joined United City FC’s preparation for the Philippines Football League after spending the past few months in Germany.
Schrock took part in the club’s training session Wednesday at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite after confirming the result of his swab test which came back negative.
It was Schrock’s first appearance for United City since the former Ceres-Negros was renamed following a change of ownership.
“It’s very nice to see them all healthy and happy after six months,” Schrock said in a video posted on the PFL’s social media accounts.
“I’m very, very eager to spend the next few days with them, and as close as possible…with the (social) distancing of course. I’m very happy to be back and it feels good,” he added.
The Philippine Azkals team captain and his family left for Germany in May, allowing himself to keep fit by participating in training sessions for several clubs as a guest player.
Schrock is confident he can be in tip-top shape if the PFL gets an approval to start its season.
“We left Germany around (the) end of May, and I was able to train and keep myself fit,” he said. “I think I’m game-ready, and if it’s up to me, we can start tomorrow.”
