YouTube has released the official numbers for the Premiere of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s music video “Lovesick Girls.”
BLACKPINK unveiled their first studio album “The Album” on Oct. 2 and along with this, they premiered the music video for the main track “Lovesick Girls” on YouTube.
YouTube told Manila Bulletin Entertainment that the “Lovesick Girls” Premiere drew over 1.4 million peak concurrent viewers.
This is lower than their “How You Like That” music video Premiere on June 26, which had 1.66 million peak concurrent viewers, referring to the highest number of viewers who watched the video at the same time.

At the time, YouTube said “How You Like That” set an all-time record for the biggest YouTube Premiere while Guinness World Records announced that it set two new records for the most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube and most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube.
The “Lovesick Girls” MV Premiere directly followed the first episode of YouTube Originals’ “Released,” which featured BLACKPINK.
According to YG Entertainment, “Lovesick Girls” topped iTunes Song Chart in 57 countries including the US, France, Norway, Thailand and Singapore.
“The Album” was released with more than 1 million pre-orders consisting of 670,000 copies in South Korea and 340,000 copies in the US and Europe.
On China’s QQ Music, a music streaming site, “The Album” has sold 799,074 copies as of writing, according to its website.
