Nova Villa's rom-com '1st ko si 3rd' is picked up by Netflix

Joining the Netflix line up for Filipino films this October is “1st ko si 3rd” an independent romantic-comedy produced by Firestarter Productions in 2014 for the Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Topbilled by veteran actors Nova Villa, Freddie Webb and Dante Rivero, the heartwarming film is supported by young actors Ken Chan, RJ Agustin, and Colleen Perez.

The film, helmed by director Real Florido, revolves around a 65-year-old woman who is looking forward to retiring with her husband. However, complications arise when an old flame enters the picture.

After its release, the film was feted not only in the Philippines but also in other countries when it received awards from Hawaii International Film Festival, London Film Festival, Canada International Film Festival and Jersey City TV & Film Festival.

Lead actress Nova Villa received her first Gawad Urian nod for the film while Dante Rivero took home the Best Actor prize from Cinemalaya.

The film drops on Netflix on October 15 under the international title “Third Is My First.”
