PBA suspends games amid COVID-19 scare

The PBA announced on Friday that it will postpone the staging of the Philippine Cup eliminations until concerned government agencies can craft new protocols inside the Clark bubble.

The league said the decision which was recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Department of Health came after the bubble was rocked with the situation surrounding a referee and a player from Blackwater initially testing positive for COVID-19.

“In compliance with the recommendation of the IATF-EID Technical Working Group and the DOH Advisory Group of Experts and to ensure the integrity and safety of the PBA Bubble the league is postponing the games starting TODAY, October 30 until the new protocols proposed by the IATF and DOH are put in place,” the PBA said.

“The PBA would like to thank the IATF, DOH and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for their continuous support and guidance,” the league added.
