Manila LGU gives over 200 pets free vaccines

Over 200 cats and dogs have been given free vaccines by the Manila city government in its anti-rabies vaccination campaign.

The Manila Veterinary Inspection Board said it has vaccinated a total of 187 dogs and 19 cats at barangays 193, 194, and 195, Zone 17 in Tondo, Manila.

Manila Veterinary Inspection Board Director Nick Santos, Jr. urged pet owners to take better care of their furry companions by having them vaccinated.

"Marapat po na isipin rin natin ang kalagayan ng ating mga alaga. Huwag po natin kaligtaan ang kanilang bakuna at maging responsable po tayo sa lahat ng oras (We should think about the well-being of our pets. Let us not forget to vaccinate them and let us be responsible at all times)," he said in a statement Thursday (Oct. 29).

Those who want to avail of the free pet vaccines should wait for their barangay officials to announce when the VIB will come to their area.
