Bank workers in Tuguegarao branch test positive for COVID-19

CAGAYAN – An assistant manager and eight employees of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) branch in Tuguegarao City were among the next cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in this province.

According to the Cagayan provincial information office, seven of the BSP workers were residents of Tuguegarao City, one was from Enrile, and another was from Peñablanca.

They were subjected to swab tests in relation to their work.

Meanwhile, the province also reported that two health workers and administration department aide in Lasam town were also found positive for the coronavirus.

It also said a nursing attendant at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), an employee of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), two residents of Tuao, and a returning locally stranded individual (LSI) in Gonzaga town were also found to have been infected.

All the new cases were swabbed last October 28, and most of them are now in quarantine facilities, according to the Cagayan provincial government.

The new cases were confirmed by Provincial Health Office (PHO) Head Dr. Carlos Cortina III and Jane Taguinod of the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU).
