DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD) reported 47 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the region on Friday, bringing the total number of active cases to 579.
Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin for October 2, 33 new cases were recorded in Davao City, six in Davao Occidental, three each in Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur, and one each from Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental.
The DOH said all of these were local cases.
Data also shows that 61 percent, or 353, of these cases was asymptomatic; 33.5 percent, or 194, have mild symptoms, 30 cases have severe symptoms, and two cases were critical.
The region has recorded a total of 3,159 cases of COVID-19.
Based on the latest case profiles of the 36 cases of COVID-19 at the start of the month, the youngest case was a one-year-old boy from Barangay Ilang in Davao City. The child has an unknown history of travel and exposure.
Meanwhile, a four-year-old boy from Sta. Maria in Davao Occidental was the youngest of the 38 successful recoveries last October 1. The boy was a locally stranded individual from Davao City, and was admitted on September 16.
Three deaths in Davao City were reported on Friday bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Davao region to 97.
The DOH also recorded 12 new recoveries. Four of these were from Davao del Norte, three each from Davao City and Davao del Sur, and one each from Davao Occidental and Davao Oriental.
A total of 2,483 reported recoveries have been recorded in Davao region.
