510 Bulakenyos receive livelihood assistance from DOLE

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – A total of 510 Bulakenyos received livelihood starter kits including grocery items for sari-sari store and sewing machines from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on as part of its livelihood project.

Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) officials led the distribution of livelihood starter kits held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center on October. 

There were 235 sewing machines given to beneficiaries who underwent livelihood training through the Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Services Office (PYSPESO) to start their business. 

Fernando expressed his gratitude for DOLE's assistance and stressed that this is a big help in alleviating unemployment and poverty due to COVID-19 pandemic.

He said it is the commitment of the provincial government of Bulacan to provide career guidance to Bulakenyos particularly to the youth. He added that they will continue to help and promote decent work for young Bulakenyos to address the pandemic challenges.

"Ang kahirapan na ating naranasan sa kasalukuyan dahil sa COVID-19 ay tila isang napakatinding karamdaman ng lipunan na ating ginagamot ngayon sa pamamagitan ng oportunidad na ganito (The difficulty that we experienced today due to COVID-19 is a serious sickness of society and this is what we are treating now through this opportunity),” Fernando said.

The Bulacan governor congratulates all the DOLE Livelihood Project beneficiaries and advises them to use it properly for their family.
