Radio Veritas leads in church's observance of All Saints' Day

The online platform of Radio Veritas 846 or Radio Veritas Philippines launched Wednesday the “Undas Veritas 2020: Remembrance, Prayer, and Recognition in connection with the observance of the Filipino people of Todos Los Santos.”

According to Veritas, devotees may send prayers and supplications for their deceased loved ones through www.veritas846.ph/undasveritas2020.

They may also send "love offerings" to pray for the frontline workers who have perished in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Radio Veritas will send All Souls’ Day electronic mass cards for the families of COVID-19 victims through email.  

“Ang Undas Veritas 2020 ay bilang tugon ng simbahan lalu’t patuloy na umiiral ang community quarantine sa malaking bahagi ng bansa at pagbabawal sa maramihang pagtitipon,” it said. 

(The Undas Veritas 2020 is the church’s response to the ongoing community quarantine in most parts of the country and the ban on mass gatherings.)

To recall, the national government had earlier announced the closure of public cemeteries nationwide to contain the spread of the dreaded novel coronavirus disease. 

With this, Radio Veritas 846 asked devotees to tune in to its special programming for the All Souls’ Day. 

“Bilang mga Katoliko, ang atin pong programa ay tungkol sa katesismo; mga pagpapaliwanag tungkol sa ating pananampalataya na may kinalaman sa mga espiritwal na bagay,”  Fr. Roy Bellen, Radio Veritas’ Vice President for Operation, said. 

Radio Veritas anchor Fr. Jerome Secillano will also tackle the guidelines for proper cremation to preserve the dignity of the dead and their families. 

“Ito rin ay ating espesyal na pamamaraan para yung lahat ng ating mga mahal na yumao nitong nakaraang 2020 sa gitna ng pandemya ay ating gunitain at pararangalan,” Bellen added. 

Caloocan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David will also tackle the exorcist stories of the victims of extrajudicial killings in the country. 

The Catholic Church had earlier encouraged the public to make the occasion significant even under the new normal scenario.
