PBA cancels another Blackwater game

Blackwater won’t be playing another game after the PBA decided to cancel its scheduled faceoff with Magnolia Wednesday afternoon at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

The Elite were supposed to take on the Hotshots at 4 p.m. inside the bubble known as Smart Clark Giga City but the league decided to put the game on hold pending an approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force.

Only one game will be held with the San Miguel Beermen-Meralco Bolts tussle at 6:45 p.m., according to the league. The PBA had earlier plugged on its social media accounts the game as part of the Wednesday doubleheader hours before a decision was made.

It was the second straight time that the PBA cancelled a Blackwater game after the team was rocked with news that one of its players initially tested positive for COVID-19.

He later yielded a negative result following antigen and RT-PCR tests but is still being quarantined at the Athlete’s Village in Capas, Tarlac.

Blackwater had resumed activities inside the bubble after being isolated upon learning of the player’s positive result.
