'The Beast' on primetime as PBA calls off TNT-NorthPort game

The PBA cancelled Monday night’s game between TNT and NorthPort despite the news that the Blackwater player who initially tested positive for COVID-19 yielded a negative result in his recent tests.

Opting for a safer approach, the league decided to put on hold the TNT-NorthPort match scheduled at 6:45 p.m. at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

The first match pitting Phoenix Super LPG and NLEX was moved from 4 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in order for the PBA to take advantage of the primetime slot vacated by the TNT-NorthPort cancellation.

Blackwater played TNT last Thursday, days before being told that one of its players tested positive for COVID-19.

The unnamed cager was immediately quarantined at the Athletes’ Village in Capas, Tarlac before latest antigen and RT-PCR tests came back negative.

The situation forced the PBA to cancel Sunday’s match between Blackwater and Rain or Shine while TNT was quickly isolated before testing negative on the antigen.
