Roofs ripped off, trees and electric polls toppled, and flooding in many areas in Oriental Mindoro were reported Monday, October 26, due to violent winds and heavy rains brought by Typhoon "Quinta".

In a Facebook post, the province of Oriental Mindoro said authorities were already clearing roads of fallen trees and debris in some towns after the typhoon passed.
In Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, huge waves, heavy rains, and strong winds were experienced at around 6 a.m. Monday.
Governor Bonz Dolor, meanwhile, assured that Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDDRMO) responders were monitoring the situation on a 24-hour basis.
Thousands of families have been forced to evacuate due to Typhoon "Quinta" as of Monday.
Typhoon "Quinta" made its fifth landfall over Pola, Oriental Mindoro at around 3:30 a.m., Monday, and was headed towards the West Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The northern and central portion of Oriental Mindoro (Oriental Mindoro (Mansalay, Roxas, Bongabong, Bansud, Gloria, Pinamalayan, Pola, Socorro, Victoria, Naujan, Calapan City, Baco, San Teodoro, Puerto Galera), and northern and central portion of Occidental Mindoro (San Jose, Rizal, Calintaan, Sablayan, Santa Cruz, Mamburao, Paluan, Abra de Ilog), including Lubang Island were among the areas placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 as of 5 a.m. on Monday.
“Quinta” has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 125 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 180 kph, and will remain a typhoon throughout its passage over Mindoro Island.
Work in government offices and private institutions, as well as classes on all levels in public and private schools in Oriental Mindoro were suspended Monday.
