Romualdez commends JIL under Villanueva’s leadership

House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez commended Deputy Speaker Eduardo “Bro. Eddie” C. Villanueva for his leadership in making the 42-year-old Jesus is Lord Church Worldwide (JIL) a “faithful advocate” for good governance and “a positive influence” in promoting the welfare of Filipino families and the country’s vulnerable sectors, especially the poor.

He congratulated the JIL for successfully celebrating its 42nd founding anniversary today, Oct. 25.

“The Philippines is so blessed to have you . You are a great source of spiritual inspiration and encouragement especially to the people around you. We commend your leadership for undying quest for excellence and a strong and influential moral guide to many in serving God and the country,” Romualdez said. “Your hard work and perseverance are there to accomplish your goals in the name God’s grace, wisdom and blessings.”

He cited that, for more than four decades, the JIL under Villanueva’s leadership has “always God’s goodness and faithfulness.”

“We wish all the good things for the Church and may God continue to bless you and your church family in serving Him,” Romualdez said.

Romualdez earlier led the filing of House Resolution (HR) No. 1291 to express the commendation and congratulatory greetings from the Lower Chamber to the leaders and members of the JIL Church.

“For more than four decades, the JIL Church has been a faithful advocate for a morally upright government as evidenced by its active participation in relevant issues that beset the nation,” read the resolution.

“Through its Bible-based teachings and programs, the JIL Church has been a positive influence in advancing the welfare of the Filipino family, the youth, the poor and the needy, and other similar sectors of the society,” it said.

Joining Romualdez in filing HR No. 1291 were Deputy Majority Leaders Juan Miguel “Mikey” Macapagal Arroyo of Pampanga, Wilter “Sharky” Wee Palma II of Zamboanga Sibugay, and Xavier Jesus “XJ” D. Romualdo of Camiguin and Assistant Majority Leader David C. Suarez of Quezon.

Under the resolution, Villanueva, who serves as Deputy Speaker for Good Governance and Moral Uprightness, has been described as the “conscience” of the House of Representatives who fearlessly speaks out against legislation and actions that will bring moral ills to the country.

“Despite going through a grave personal and organizational challenge this year–the coming home to Heaven of two of their beloved pillars, Dr. Adoracion J. Villanueva and Mayor Eleanor J. Villanueva-Tugna–the JIL Church has remained resolute to their calling and stood firm for the cause of God and this country,” the House leaders said.
