K-pop idol group BTS achieved another record when their “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey music video reached one billion views on YouTube.
“Boy With Luv” attained one billion views on Oct. 24, or 18 months after it was uploaded on April 12, 2019, making it BTS’ second music video to set the milestone.
Last June 1, BTS’ “DNA” reached one billion views, or two years and eight months after it was released on Sept. 18, 2017. This made BTS the first K-pop male group to have a single music video with 1 billion views.
“Boy With Luv” is the main track of the idol group’s “Map of the Soul: Persona” album that was released also on April 12, 2019.
Upon its release, “Boy With Luv” accumulated 74.6 million views in the first 24 hours to have the biggest music video debut of all time, according to YouTube, and it held the record until June this year. At the time, it was also the fastest music video to reach 100 million views, achieving it in less than two days.
“Boy With Luv” now sits on the fourth spot in the top 10 all-time top 24-hour music debuts on YouTube.
