Yamaha launches WR 155 R dual sport motorcycle

Yamaha expands its dual-sport motorcycle lineup with the addition of the all-new WR 155R. The new model is now available at all Yamaha 3S showrooms starting at PhP169,000.

The new WR 155R is descended from Yamaha’s legendary WR series of enduro bikes, built for heavy-duty excitement and total control on any surface.

Powering it is a lightweight 155cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine; with VVA optimizing performance at both low and high speeds. It produces 16.7 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.3 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

The WR 155R is built on a semi double cradle frame. It’s held aloft by front fork that boasts ofup to 41 mm of travel. In the rear is a linked type monocross suspension with a coil spring. Its gas-charged absorber is designed to deliver consistency during long periods of riding. It’s also fitted with dual-purpose tires with aluminum rims to return grip and reliability on any road.

The WR has been designed with a flat seat to allow for a larger degree of movement and dynamic riding positions to allow the rider to shift his weight over varying terrain.

Bringing it to a stop are wave-style disc brakes, designed to allow the brake padsto better grip.

For the rider, there’s a compact LCD instrument panel with a tachometer, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, clock, fuel mileage, gear position indicator, and VVA indicator. It is also equipped with a hazard lamp feature.

It’s paired with a slim-design 8.1-liter fuel tank to match with the finely tuned chassis and provide a large fuel capacity for longer rides.

The new WR 155R comes in two color variations, blue and black, with an SRP of PhP169,000. It’s available at the Yamaha Flagship store, the YZone, and Yamaha Rev Zones nationwide.
