ISABELA – Ten bridges in this province were rendered impassable as of 12 noon on Wednesday, according to a report from the Provincial Police Office (PPO).
The Isabela PPO continued to monitor the condition of roads and bridges on Wednesday as the province continued to feel the effects of Tropical Storm Pepito.
In its report, Isabela PPO said the following bridges were not passable to motorists, as of Wednesday afternoon: Baculod Overflow Bridge at City of Ilagan, Ilagan City, Cabisera 8 Overflow Bridge , Cansan Overflow Bridge connecting Municipality of Cabagan and Sto Tomas , Mozzozzin Sur Overflow Bridge connecting Cabagan and Sta Maria , Cauayan City Overflow Bridge (Alicao-cao) , Echague (Gucab Overflow Bridge) , Echague (Annafunan Overflow Bridge) , Sto. Domingo, Quirino Overflow Bridge , San Agustin PS (Sinaoangan Norte Overflow Bridge) and . San Agustin (Masaya Sur Overflow Bridge).
It also reported that 300 individuals were evacuated.
"Ito iyong mga nasa mababang lugar sa Isabela kaya sila inilikas (These were from the low-lying areas of Isabela, that’s why they were evacuated),” PNP Isabela said.
Meanwhile, Likewise, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRMO) in Nueva Vizcaya reported landslides in Kayapa, Kasibu and Ambaguio towns.
Clearing operations were already being undertaken in these towns, as of Wednesday afternoon.
" Kailangan pang i-clear ang area upang madaanan ng mga sasakyan (These areas have to be cleared before vehicles could pass)," a resident said.
