What is Museo de Filipino and why is it trending on TikTok?

It's no secret that Pinoys are hooked on the video-sharing app TikTok since they get to express their creativity and watch the trends unfold by watching other Tiktokers or "Musers."

Among the trending TikTokers is Museo de Filipino. But what exactly is Museo de Filipino and what message is it trying to convey?

All Museo de Filipino videos have a common theme: videos of historical figures, politicians, literary characters, and even regular Filipinos who suffered from human rights injustices.

There are "on" and "off" buttons in each video. When the "on" button is clicked, these inanimate begin to move and tell their stories.

Filipinos are so creative that they shared the stories of Mactan chief and warrior Lapu-Lapu, the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, national hero Jose Rizal and his fictional characters Maria Clara and Sisa, Filipino General Gregorio del Pilar, revolutionary hero Gabriela Silang, student Kian Delos Santos, and even human rights worker Reina Mae Nasino, among many others.

The videos have even sparked conversations on Twitter, with several netizens saying that the trend should continue and Filipinos "must watch" these to be enlightened about the issues currently hounding the country.

@kristxana_ tweeted, "Been watching videos from this TikTok trend, Museo de Filipino. Knowing that majority of these videos were innocent lives taken by the hands of unforgiving murderers sickens me and how the administration is a part of this unjust system truly angers me."
@shaznaeee is hoping that the Museo de Filipino trend won't stop "because it educates people regarding Philippine history and some issues in our country."

"The Museo De Filipino trend on TikTok seriously gives me goosebumps!!!" gushed @XandraBits_. "MUST WATCH, they also included various national heroes, people who died unjustly, rape victims and such."
