Police official shoots lover, then self in Talisay City police station

CEBU CITY—A police official was believed to have shot dead his alleged lover before shooting himself inside a police station in Talisay City, southern Cebu on Tuesday morning.


        The bodies of Police Lt. Praxilo Albiso and 31-year-old Vernice Cardino were found in an office on the ground floor of the Police Community Precinct in Barangay Bulacao.

        Albiso, who was in his 40s, was the deputy station commander of the Talisay City Police Station.

        Police said two were inside an office around 10 a.m. when four gunshots rang out.

        People on the second floor of the building rushed downstairs to check, and found the bloodied victims.

        Police said it was possible that Albiso, who was single, shot the woman thrice before shooting himself in the head.

        The two were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.

        The woman was the wife of a seaman from Toledo City, Cebu, who appeared in a television show of Raffy Tulfo last February, in which the man accused his wife of having an affair with the police official.

        In the show, the man complained that his wife was pregnant, but he was not sure if he was the father of the child.
