Col. Angela Rejano

Col. Angela Q. Rejano was presented and introduced by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas, in a press conference on Tuesday as the first female police station head of the Northern Police District (NPD) and the NCRPO.

Before taking over the seat of Col. Jessie Tamayao and her installation in the city, Rejano was the head of Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division of the NCRPO.

Rejano was also the first female chief of police in Sorsogon City and the first female provincial director in the province of Siquijor.

Rejano was the one who came up with an idea last year of launching Mariang Pulis, the first-ever police station ran by an all-women force in the municipality of Maria in Siquijor. That time, she was backed and given a green light by Sinas, who was then the regional police director of Central Visayas.

In her brief speech, Rejano expressed her gratitude to the NCRPO and Malabon Mayor Lenlen Oreta for allowing her to lead the Malabon City Police Station and to serve the residents of the city.

"I can only give my commitment and courage to lead the 523 police force of Malabon, covering 21 barangays and 530,000 constituents by adhering to the policy guidelines of our team NCRPO and the PNP (Philippine National Police) in general by keeping always the constituents of Malabon, from preventing them, from crime and safeguarding them day after day," she said.
