Cpl. Michael Estacion was awarded a token by Valenzuela City 2nd District Representative Eric Martinez for his honesty after returning a lost bag containing P5,750 cash, smart phone, ATM card, and other valuables to its owner.

When he found the bag unattended in front of a city social service center, he surrendered it to his superior, the Valenzuela City police said Sunday.

They then immediately reached out to its owner through the address provided in an identification card they found.

Amier Mohammed Kadon, the owner, told police that he was surprised when he was contacted for the return of his bag.

Following the incident, Rep. Martinez requested for a zoom program to meet Estacion. Martinez awarded the cop P10,000, while P5,000 for his colleagues at the Bagbaguin Standby Point police station.

“We are always tempted by something especially with the material things, so ‘yun lang ang pwede kong ibigay sa inyo (that’s the only thing I could give you), these words that is coming from my heart, and how I appreciate your good deeds… and this reward for the honesty ng ating mga kapulisan," Martinez said.

"May God hold you at the palm of His hand and protect you, our policemen. Continue to do good, hindi man nakikita (it might not be seen but), there’s a God up there. Some people really appreciate all the good," he added.
