To celebrate her second daughter Gabriella’s 11th month
It has been a year since Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla went on a trip to the US with her family. It was then and there that she came across some Care Bears costumes and immediately put the plan of having a Care Bears-themed celebration for her second daughter Gabriella’s 11th month on October 15 into action. And, apparently, her first born Isabella loves these adorable colorful bears.
Mariel has been celebrating monthly milestones of their second daughter, so being used to this regular celebration, she told Manila Bulletin Lifestyle “we (and her household staff) already knew what to do.” This included spraying the balloons (from @partystationphils) and vases that arrived with Lysol, with everything else just stored in the house. As for the food, Mariel baked lasagna and ordered food from Robin’s cousin, @armina_fe with cake from @cubcakesphilippines.
The family had a fabulous time celebrating Gabriella’s 11th month, because, aside from her immediate family, her great grandparents (Mariel’s side) and cousins Adriana and Carolina were there, too! The highlight of the day? Mariel shares, “It would be all four of us in our costumes taking pics quickly because it was super hot hahaha…” They also had a fun cookie decorating class with kits sent by @theparty_project.
When asked how they feel about celebrations at home, Mariel says, “We make do with what we have. And right now, it is safest for everyone to just stay home.” She also noted that all celebrations are special and your children will appreciate the effort. “So pick a theme. Do the decorations and tablescape the night before because you will have to devote your time for the food on the actual day. Get a stylist to help you, even virtually, if you are like me who accepts no outsiders. Mine was Kaye Garcia who is also my sister so she walked me through it with ease.”
